Digital Bangladesh

“Digital Bangladesh by 2021” emerged as part of “Charter for Change”—the election manifesto of Bangladesh Awami League for the 9th Parliamentary Election. The forward-looking declaration was made on December 12, 2008 for the election held on December 29, 2008.

In many ways, ‘Digital Bangladesh’ is a reincarnation of the vision of ‘Sonar Bangla’ (Golden Bengal). From this viewpoint, where it makes sense, ICTs and new technologies need to be leveraged in all aspect of national progress of a Digital Bangladesh; A “New Bangladesh”.

Some of the key areas in which ICT is being leveraged successfully under the auspicious leadership of Honorable Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina are outlined below:

  1. Human Resource Development (HRD)
  2. Connecting the Citizens
  3. Digital Government for Pro-Poor Services
  4. ICT In Business

New Bangladesh Chat (New BDCHAT) falls under the area of Connecting the Citizens of Bangladesh. Already mobile phones have created a sustainable channel of communication for the citizens of Bangladesh. We strive to join the effort led by Honorable PM Sheikh Hasina to promote digital Bangladesh by enabling the citizens to communicate online.

Bangladesh-Poland relations refer to the bilateral relations between Bangladesh and Poland. Poland was the sixth country to recognize Bangladesh. Diplomatic relations between the two countries were officially established on 12 January 1972. Bangladesh has an embassy in Warsaw. While the proprietors of New BDCHAT are Polish-Bangladeshis, they value their Bangladeshi legacy, and stand by the values of Vision 2021, and the concept of Digital Bangladesh, and strive to make it a success.
